A lash lift and a set of extensions solve the same problem in opposite ways. One adds lashes. The other reshapes the ones you have.
What is a Korean lash lift?
A chemical process that curls your natural lashes upward from the base and sets them in that shape, usually paired with a tint to darken them. Nothing is attached. When it grows out, it grows out - there is no removal appointment.
How is it different from extensions?
- Extensions add length and density. A lift adds curl and lifts what is already there.
- Extensions need a fill every two to three weeks. A lift lasts six to eight weeks with no maintenance appointments.
- Extensions require ongoing aftercare discipline. A lift mostly needs nourishment and time.
- Extensions can be removed. A lift cannot be undone - it grows out.
Who should get a lift instead of extensions?
People who already have decent natural lash length but lashes that point straight out or down, so the length never reads. A lift makes existing length visible. If your lashes are genuinely sparse or short, a lift will not create density that is not there - extensions will.
How long does it last?
Six to eight weeks, following your natural growth cycle. Daily nourishment - a lash serum or conditioning oil once it is safe to apply - meaningfully affects how good it looks in weeks four through eight.
What does it cost?
Korean Lash Lift with tint starts at $210. Compared to a full set at $350 to $450 plus fills every few weeks, it is the lower-commitment option in both money and calendar.
Does it hurt or damage my lashes?
It should not. It uses chemical solutions on the lashes, not the skin or the eye. The real risks are an allergic reaction, which can happen at any time even if you have never had one, and over-processing by an inexperienced tech. Contact lenses come out before the service.
Who should not get one?
Anyone with an active eye infection, recent eye surgery, unhealed permanent makeup around the eyes, or current use of a lash growth serum like Latisse should discuss it before booking. Botox or filler in the eye area within five days is also a no.
